Nasolabial folds

Nasolabial folds appear from the bottom of the nose and extend to the corner of the mouth. If these lines are deep, you may be advised to have cheek Dermal fillers first to lift the upper half of the face. Dermal fillers are a great way to fill-in the lines, smooth out the skin, making the nasolabial folds less noticeable.

FAQs

How is the procedure performed?

Before your treatment you will have a consultation where you will discuss the outcome you're hoping for. Any makeup will be removed and the area cleansed. Numbing cream will be applied onto the lips before the injections, this usually takes 20 - 30 minutes to take effect. If you have chosen to have a cheek enhancement, the area will then be marked up to ensure precise placement of the filler to enhance the cheek bone outline. Safety is our priority, depending on the procedure, we will use a blunt ended cannula as this is a safer method than using a needle for some procedures and minimises pain felt.

How long does it take?

Depending on the area and the amount of filler used you will be in procedure for between 45 minutes to an hour. There will always be 1 hour allocated to the appointment time to ensure a complete medical history and consultation has taken place, as well as enough time for clinic before and after photos to be taken.

When can I expect to see results?

Results take effect immediately but best results will be seen at 2 weeks. The effects are long lasting, non permanent and reversible.

How long will the filler last?

You can expect to get between 6 - 12 months from your filler. Please be aware absorption times differ within the brands and also from client to client depending on how your body metabolises the product so individual results may vary.

What is the downtime?

There can be bruising, some swelling and redness caused by the injection itself, all of these tend to resolve within a few days. However, bruising may take a little longer to be completely gone.  If you're sensitive to bruising it is advisable to take arnica tablets 7 days before the procedure. If you have minor bruising it's fine to use arnica gel or cream on the affected area, this will reduce the amount of bruising that may occur during the procedure.
